NAME

dan — tech lead, terminal romantic, professional button-presser

SYNOPSIS

dan [--coffee] [--verbose] [--no-meetings] problem

DESCRIPTION

dan takes a problem as input and produces software as output, with variable latency and occasional side effects (see BUGS). Has been shipping things to the web long enough to remember when this was done over FTP, at 2 a.m., straight to production.

By day, tech-leads React/Next.js frontends for brands used by millions. By night, downgrades to hobby vibe coder and treats this site as a blank canvas — no roadmap, no tickets, no adult supervision.

Runs best in a terminal. Enjoys clean interfaces, boring technology that works, and animations that respect prefers-reduced-motion.

OPTIONS

--coffee

Required flag. The default and only supported mode.

--verbose

Enabled when discussing keyboards, typography, or the '90s.

--no-meetings

Experimental. Rarely honored by the scheduler.

HISTORY

First appeared in 1991. Ported to the web in the 2000s. This site is the third major rewrite; historians expect a fourth.

BUGS

Occasionally overthinks. Refuses to use light mode (see theme paper for a reluctant compromise). Will absolutely rebuild a perfectly functional website for fun.
